~the union~
SHE is beautiful, spontaneous, sociable, a devoted buddhist and a very fortunate woman
HE is charismatic, humble, fillial and a very lucky man
Their union was witnessed by many relatives and close frens juz some few hrs ago... a simple yet very meaningful one.. a mix of chinese and japanese culture, definitely the first vegetarian wedding i've been to.. all the guests shared their happiness and their tears with the blessed couple during the ceremony...
the bride, my grandfather's brother's daughter, which means she's of same level with my mum, so that makes her my aunt.. and the groom, my uncle.. i have a japanese uncle... yea~
i seldom see these relatives of mine, from my grandfather's side unless on special occasions like these.. and i really do have a lot of aunts and uncles.. coz my grandfather has 5 other brothers.. so as a prelude to the dinner, there's always a meet-the-relatives session, and that's when i follow my mum around as she socialised with the relatives... she'll go: "my eldest daughter.. quick call XX, YY, ZZ..."... then they go: "aiyo.. li eh zhar bo kia jin xiang li... jin xiang... hahahaha... kenna yin chu lai eh....hahahaa" yea yea... it's always like that... today, we played a special game, guessing which daughter belongs to which mum.. pengz... but very fun!!!! haha... some guess wrongly, some were rite.. in conclusion, basically i look like my mum, plus a bit of my er-yi, a bit of my san-yi and more bits of my xiao-yi... haha.. so fun!! but seriously, i think we all do look alike in some ways, whether distant or not....
Part 1:
the ceremony started with a powerpt show of the photos of the bride and groom, beginning with their parents' wedding photos to the baby photos of the blessed couple to more photos of their courtship.. finally the dishes were served.. so excited abt the vegetarian dishes... very nice.. tastes like the real "meat"..
Part 2:
the couple re-entered the restaurant in their traditional japanese costumes.. now that's an eye-opener... they both look great, the groom looked so suave and the bride so demure in her green/pink kimono.. they both said their thank-you speeches with lots of tears... they thanked the most important pple who gave them life, it's such a touching scene, the guests were moved to tears.. the bride will be moving to Osaka with her husband to start another stage of their life.. so that calls for all the emotions...
so nice to have a wedding like this.. a cross-cultural one... hmmm... now i can understand why someone wants a church wedding after attending one huh... haha... dun say so early, wait till my "ba zi" has that "yi bie" first.. haha....
*picking up the broken pieces and mending them together agn but to be smashed the next time?*
