~"X'mas at Kranji"~
spent my Sunday touring the farms in Kranji area with my mum, my xiaoyi and my 2 cousins, missed them so much.. apparently it's an event organised for the coming x'mas and it's free!! had to take shuttle buses which will stop at designated stops juz in front of the farms.. dragged myself out of bed at 715am.. but it had to rain, the weather is soooo nice for indulging in sleep under my cosy blanket...it is so unpredictable coz the sun was up and shining at ard 10 plus... i think we were the kiasu lot who got up the very first shuttle bus at Kranji MRT.. there were abt 7 to 8 places to visit.. saw witty there too, with her parents, almost the same pace together.. the more memorable ones would be the Bollywood (an organic veggie farm), Hay Dairies (goats), Jurong Frog Farm and Hausmann (aquarium fishes)..
At Bollywood, we got to see many types of fruits trees and veggies.. the papaya trees are damn productive.. not surprising to find at least 10 papayas hanging from one tree.. saw goat milking at Hay Dairies.. The frog farm was the most gross for me.. saw lots of them
mating croaking away.. some in groups of threes and fours... hee... also went to the slaughtering room (unknowingly) where a few workers armed with their choppers.. easily chopping off the heads & webbed feet of the frogs, before skinning them and throwing them into one big basket for the next processing area.. one frog, with a strong will to live, struggled in the basket, headless and feetless.. kicking its legs away for at least a min before succumbing to its fate.. gross rite???!!! argh... and juz outside that small hut, they sold frog porridge for ur immediate consumption.. argh... i think probably i wun eat frogs' legs after we finished the pack we bought.. oops..
I think sunday is the day i saw the most deaths... the last stop was at Hausmann.. my cousins proceeded to catch "longkang" fish @$1 for 1/2hr... sorry for the fishes... coz at least 6 kids are there, waiting to catch them and put them in their little pails... not surprising to find many dead fishes floating ard.. kelda was pretty fast in catching the first 5 fishes.. she got strategy one ok.. aimed, ducked the net into the water fast and voila! kendra, her elder sis, was a bit slow but kelda was generous enough to catch a few for her.. hehe.. kendra got really impatient but still trying her best while kelda, very patient and enjoying every minute of catching a fish with her own effort... after the playtime is up, the fishes are put back into the water, only to be chased ard by the next batch of kids agn.. ~traumatic~
A surprise is coming.. look out!
